Hello, we are Smješko!
Playful games and stories that bring children of the Bosnian diaspora closer to their roots.
Why Smješko?
Thousands of Bosnian and Herzegovinian families live all around the world, from Germany and Austria to Sweden, the USA and Australia. Their children grow up speaking new languages, making new friends, and building their lives far from the place their parents and grandparents call home.
Smješko was created to help these children discover Bosnia and Herzegovina in the way children learn best: through play. Our games, characters and stories invite them to walk through Baščaršija, jump from Stari Most, serve ćevapi, pour Bosnian coffee the traditional way, and get to know the people, places and customs that are part of who they are.
We believe that a connection to your roots can start with a smile. And that's where our name comes from.
Designed with love in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Every Smješko project is designed and created in Bosnia and Herzegovina, by people who know and love its towns, traditions and stories. From our characters in traditional clothing to the streets of Sarajevo and the bridge in Mostar, everything you see is inspired by real places and real culture, made to be fun, authentic and welcoming for every child, wherever they live.
Playful learning
Games that teach about Bosnia and Herzegovina without feeling like a lesson.
Real places and traditions
Landmarks, food, customs and everyday life, shown with care and authenticity.
For children everywhere
Made for families in the diaspora and for anyone curious about Bosnia and Herzegovina.
10% for education in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Smješko is about more than games. We want to give something back to the country that inspires everything we make.
That's why we donate 10% of all our earnings to educational projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting schools, teachers and children who deserve every opportunity to learn and grow.
We believe in full transparency. We will regularly publish which projects we support, how much was donated, and what the donations helped achieve, so you can see exactly where your support goes.
Donation reports will be published here.
